Warehouse Rack Systems in Savannah, GA
Choose new warehouse racking by the load you store and the way you retrieve it. Direct-access pallets, deep reserve lanes, long building materials and hand-picked cartons need different support and aisle arrangements.
Start with access, then compare storage depth
Pooler's import DCs and Port Wentworth's large cross-docks need storage connected to receiving and shipping. Garden City's port-overflow buildings can handle repeated pallets alongside mixed freight. Heavy import container flow changes pallet counts and SKU profiles, so direct access may matter more than the deepest possible lane.
Selective rack exposes each pallet position. Pushback groups compatible loads at one aisle with last-in, first-out handling. Pallet flow provides a gravity-fed first-in, first-out path, while drive-in uses deep lanes entered by the forklift. Compare pallets per item and required rotation before assigning stock to a system.
Separate long loads and smaller picks
Hinesville contractor space, Bluffton flex units and Jesup's forest-products manufacturing create a long-material storage task. Cantilever gives lumber, pipe and irregular goods an open front, with arm spacing based on lengths and weight distribution. Packaged pallets beside that area need their own beam-load review.
Ellabell supplier containers and Statesboro component stock may need reserve positions connected to line-side carton picks. Carton flow presents compatible cases at a forward face with replenishment from the back. Keep full-load truck movement separate from the hand-picking path when drawing those zones.
Fit the selected system to the warehouse
Rincon and Dean Forest Road include 32–36 foot clear buildings; older Garden City and Old Louisville Road stock includes 18–24 foot clear space. The rack elevations and working aisles should follow the selected building and loaded forklift reach. Beam capacity follows the actual loads, not an assumed average pallet.
Growing cooler and freezer demand from refrigerated imports makes deeper storage worth evaluating, but the stock rotation still comes first. Coastal heat and storms affect installation scheduling and staging. Bring load dimensions, weights, truck details and a drawing so new material and the work sequence can be planned together.
